Named after the quaint, crooked historic street in which it is located, the Bendy Street Emporium harks back to a time when shopping was a pleasure, when products were not mass produced, when quality and design were important and when brown paper packages were tied up with string.
Kate Barclay, mother of three, photographer and farmer's wife, established the Emporium in the Autumn of 2010. Kate's philosophy is, where-ever possible, to surround oneself with beautiful things. Beautiful things needn't be expensive or impractical. Even the most domestic items can have a touch of flair - such as sweet little blackbird pegs, aromatic French linen waters and soothing Syrian olive oil soaps.
Housed in a hundred year old front complete with art deco stained glass windows, wooden floorboards and original shop fittings, the Bendy Street Emporium will have the perfect gift or that little something you just don't want to do without. Kate has hand selected every item in store from garden goodies, kitchen items and beautiful books to linen shirts, scarves, jewellery and very glam gum boots.
So please, take a stroll through the delightful Bendy Street Emporium. Relax, take your time...enjoy!
